Here's an idea for some quick and easy to make light weight garb...
Concept by: Thought Admiral Kethas epetai-Rustadzh

While I was at Neutral Zone this year someone asked me if there was a way to make Klingon garb one could wear in hot weather and be comfortable in... At the time I said I had some ideas running around in my head, and now here they are...

I took this idea from my very first Battle Cloak
(aptly named the Imperial Bathrobe)...
It started out as a cloak, but when I decided to make it into a shirt I found more ways of incorporating it with other pants for several different types of garb.

The shirt comes down to roughly 4 to 6 inches below the waist (to allow for Bloodwine Gut). It is VERY similar in design to a Martial Arts Gi, but without the sleeves. Here's a sketch of the concept.

The Shirt is all one piece of fabric aside from any trim, or decoration you wish. It wraps around the waist and ties are added to hold it in place. Any belt will do (bucaneer sash, rope, chain, duty belt, what have you).

This next pic is very similar to the first. This is the Full Length Robe. The COMPLETE outfit for Warriors, Civilians, AND Clerics. The design is simple and the functionality of it really does show through.

Things to notice...
1.) It goes straight down to roughly an inch above the ankles.
2.) The Slit on the front veiw between the legs goes up to 3 - 8 inches above the knee (Only one is shown in front, a back leg slit is optional).
This provides maneuverability.
3.) When the wrap comes across to each hip it is cut to provide a straight line (see side profile).
4.) Striping (as seen on the shoulders of both) is completely optional.
Other ideas include leaving the area blank, using one side for striping, House or unit insignia, Fur, Leather or Vinyl, Or anything you may like.

Recommended Colors: Black, Grey, Red, and Earth Tones.

Well, there's my simple yet effective idea. I don't have any patterns as of yet, but with the information I gave you it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out.
